Work-Out 4 the Eyes ?

I kid you not ....

.... holistic health professionals are stating you can actually help your eyesight (and toss your glasses) by exercising your eyes. No this isn't from some mad doctor, there's scientific evidence to back it up.

Research funded by a $3.5 million grant belonging to the National Institute of Aging has just came to light and shown that elderly people can improve their vision by exercising their eyes. And you know what that means; if it helps them, it can help everybody else. So why wait until you get old?

The study was published on the web November issue belonging to the Journal of Vision. Reported by a research team belonging to the University of California, Riverside (UCR) and Boston University. An option for elders to enhance and even cure their sight, looks very promising, and it is drug-less. Now that's a switch!

"We found that just two days of the exercises in one hour sessions resulted in older subjects seeing as well as younger college-age subjects," the chief researcher said in a statement to the media.

It has once been said ....

.... by a more deserving man than I, “the face will be the index of your mind as well as the eyes are the windows of the soul.” On the tangible level, eyes are our only windows to the world that we will ever know. It makes sense to look out for them.

Yoga, you may not be surprised, plays a major role with eye health, and longevity. A routine, repletes with asanas, pranayama; and of course meditation certainly helps in acuiring peace and tranquility.

Yogic eye exercises strengthen the muscles for the eyes and thus help in curing many ailments of the eyes. Certain eye asanas are recognized to correct eye problems. With yoga, people begin treating their eyes with care, which reflects in good eye health.

The renowned late William H. Bates, an ophthalmologist, claimed vision could be improved with eye asanas like palming, eyeball rotations and gaze shifting. So,eye exercises are crucial for any individual and will be incorporated into the regular yoga asanas. These exercises can be performed after the main asanas.
